TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Police investigator will immediately submit the file of the hoax case suspect Ratna Sarumpaet, to the prosecutor’s office. The file has been submitted but returned back on November 23.
Jakarta Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Prabowo Argo Yuwono said the second submission would be carried out this week.
“This week, if it is finished, it will be immediately handed over to the prosecutor’s office,” Argo said when contacted on Tuesday afternoon, December 18.
Previously, Ratna Sarumpaet’s lawyer, Insank Nasruddin, said that Ratna’s family continued to wait for the progress of the police inspection. Insank admitted that his client’s health continued to drop while in detention.
“Now her body is very skinny,” he said when he was visiting with Ratna’s youngest daughter, Atiqah Hasiholan, Tuesday, December 18.
According to Insank, Ratna Sarumpaet had difficulty in eating so her weight dropped 12 kilograms. To maintain the health of the 69-year-old woman, the family was forced to provide vitamins through an IV.
Ratna Sarumpaet has been detained and was set as a suspect for spreading a hoax about her persecution since October 5.
The news was viral and drew criticism against the government because, at that time, Ratna Sarumpaet was criticizing and joining the campaign team for presidential candidate Prabowo, challenger to incumbent candidate Jokowi.
Ratna Sarumpaet claimed to have been beaten by a number of men in Bandung, but later revealed that the changes in her face were due to aesthetic surgery in Jakarta. The hoax was told by Ratna to the presidential and vice presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno.
